Week 2

Week 2  Week 1 is in the books we had some major upsets, blowouts and everything in betwe en. Now its time to take a look at what Week 2 has to offer us. Friday we have 4 games fairly average in terms of competition one game that Ill take a peak at is Northern Illinois vs Maryland could be a sleeper. Saturday we got a full  slate starting at noon we have a in state rivalry the CY Hawk game Iowa vs Iowa State gonna be a hardnose fought game down to the wire. Iowa state came out with the win last year 20-19 although Iowa leads this rivalry with a record of 47-24. A few other games on my radar are Baylor vs #17 SMU (I always had a soft spot for Baylor since the RG3 days), #20 Ole Miss vs Kentucky could be an upset alert, they won last year I'm just sayin. Another game I'm interested in is Army vs Kansas reason is of course Army's unique offense which I hope to one day learn the nuances. An underrated one is Sacramento State vs Nevada reasoning be...

Is Bama in trouble?

"Do you hear me I'm not afraid Anymore" How the mighty have fallen, the Boogie Man of college football is no more and the whole nation can finally breathe. We are seeing before our very eyes a dynasty lose its aura. I've been alive long enough to have witnessed Coach Nick Saban terrorise the College football landscape for years without missing a step. With his militant style program it showed on the field and in the teams trophy cabinet.  Saturday afternoon we didn't see the Alabama Crimson Tide that put fear into opponents we saw a undisciplined lethargic and flat out embarrassing squad that expected their presence alone to be the deciding factor for them to win. And Florida State didn't take a step back that whole fight and it showed on the scoreboard.  Tommy Castellanos quote seemed to be rent free in the Crimsons Tides mide the whole week, Tommy showed up and showed out displaying the passion and energy the FSU team desperately needed coming of...

Texas Longhorns vs Ohio State Buckeyes

Image
Week 1 We open up Week 1 of the College Football season with a Primetime game at NOON in Columbus, the rematch of last years semi finals in the College football playoffs Texas v Ohio State and boy was it and Defensive game. As I get older I'm learning and understanding the game on a technical level and looking and games like this and appreciate the small things I will be re watching this game and trying to find ways the Buckeyes can improve. As for the game itself it was like I stated a Defensive oriented style game played slow and methodical. Julian Sayian for his first start controlled the game very well played within the system and delivered the buckeyes the win, no mistakes on his part he handled the game and the atmosphere well.  The Offensive line played ok, in the pass game they held up giving Sayian enough time to make his reads and keeping his jersey clean. In the run game the Bucks struggled with the point of attack Texas did a great job shooting...
